It looks like we might finally have an honest politician for whom we can vote.  The more I hear about Sarah Palin, the more I am impressed. She has the Democrats  reacting with fear and panic.  It appears they can’t find anything about herself to smear her with, so they are stooping so low as to attack her daughter.  In my opinion, she would not only make a good Vice President, but also a strong President as well. Someone mentioned to me the other day, that they liked Palin, but were unsure how a well a women could handle the Presidency, especially during a war. I said, “Do you remember Golda Mier, Prime Ministrer of Israel?”  That was one tough lady who took care of Israel very well in 1969-1974. Margaret Thatcher of Great Britain was also proof that the right woman can run a country.

Some Christians think we need to sit on our backsides while our country goes to pot. Nothing could be further from the truth. Do-nothing pacifism never accomplished a single thing. I read a lot on the web about how Christian history is filled with Christians killing others. This is sometimes used to compare the Christian religion with Islam. People who state this many times use it as an excuse not to become a Christian. I would like to straighten some things out here. Most people who make such statements are ignorant of not only what a true Christian is, but also about religious history. Let’s take for example the idea that Christians killed others in the Dark Ages since many times this is the history to which such people are referring. During this era, the Catholic church was in power politically. It is true that they did kill people. Also, the history of the Crusaders is filled with tales of war and murder. Keep in mind however, that just because a person calls themselves a Christian does not make it so. The so called “Church” during that time was made up of a lot of religious people who “called” themselves Christians. That does not mean they were. When Constantine decided to conquer the world in the name of Christianity, he basically poured water on his soldiers and called them Christians. This does not make a person a Christian anymore than taking a bath makes a person a Christian. Only by believing in Jesus Christ as Savior does one become a Christian. So here we have people calling themselves such who weren’t and also we have true believers during this time. If one reads Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, he will find that the so called Christian church spent a lot of time murdering true Christians who would not abide by the teachings of the Catholic Church which was then in power. So if you read your histoy books, you will find that not only Muslims and others were killed, by the “Church”, but true Christians were murdered as well. The Christian religion teaches that murder is wrong. People need to realize that killing in the name of Christianity was never taught in the Bible, which is our basis of faith and living.

Does this mean a Christian cannot commit murder? No, Christians too can commit murder, but that does not mean Christians believe in murder nor do they condone it. To criticize the Christian faith, just because some people who may or may not be Christians commit murder, is not valid. That would be like saying all college professors teach murder just because one professor murders someone. It is a totally illogical and irrational argument. It is true there are some misguided Christian ignoramuses who think they are justified in killing innocent individuals. But that is not the teaching of Christianity. And non-Christians should not condemn Christians or the Christian religion because of the acts of certain individuals.

There are certain situations in which the Bible does condone killing. One is killing in self defense, another is during war, and yet another is the execution of certain criminals by the government.

People who criticize the Christian religion because of the acts of certain individuals who call themselves Christians need to do a little research and apply some basic logical reasoning before they start condemning all Christians. To do otherwise just shows their ignorance.

I think we are on a slippery Slope. Tyson has 1200 workers in Tennessee… and they classify the 250 Muslims as a majority, so the UNION negotiated this. Time for a few Union officials to learn where they live.. and learn some Math. (250 / 1200 = 21%…. not even close to a majority!!

Tyson Foods (based in Arkansas) is changing their holidays for workers in Tennessee. Workers will no longer get Labor Day as a paid holiday, rather they will get October 1st off instead to celebrate a Muslim Holiday. Doesn’t matter if you are white, black, brown or Muslim - that’s the holiday you must take.

People should be outraged and stop buying Tyson products. They seem to have a problem figuring out what country this is and that people that come to the United States should abide by our language, our laws and our holidays. The workers are already given time off during the day to pray.

What if a Christian demanded the same thing - they would probably be fired. Come on people, it’s time to stop this insanity and take our Country back. It won’t be long before beheadings are common place to accommodate the Muslim way of settling a score.

By the way, I am boycotting Tyson Food starting TODAY!!! I won’t be giving my money to a company who is supporting a religon that instructs it’s followers to murder me and my family! ~D

I know the Republicans have their flaws, but it’s time to get the do-nothing democrats out of Congress. This is nothing but a dictatorship by a Democratic Congress over the American people. It’s Day 3 of the American Energy Revolt, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi is digging in her heels!
This past Sunday, on ABC’s This Week, George Stephanopoulos pointed out to Speaker Pelosi that when Democrats took the Majority in Congress, she promised “open, full and fair debate.”

Stephanopoulos: “If [Republicans] want to offer a drilling proposal, why can’t they have a vote?”

Pelosi: “They, they, they, they’ll have to use their imaginations as to how they can get a vote.”

Translation: NO VOTE TO INCREASE AMERICAN OIL

Democrats are on a month-long vacation and as obstinate as ever. Speaker Nancy Pelosi has ordered the lights on the floor of the House of Representatives be turned off, the microphones silenced and the cameras shut down. But that isn’t going to stop the GOP from demanding that she bring the Democrats back to Washington immediately to finish the peoples’ business and vote on an energy bill now.

Last Friday, the Republican House Leadership signed a letter to Speaker Pelosi stating:

“We think it is unconscionable that Congress has gone on vacation before we have addressed the high gas prices that are crippling our economy and hurting millions of families. We are asking that you reconvene the House from your five-week vacation and schedule a vote on legislation to increase American energy production. Let us be clear, we are not asking for a guaranteed outcome, just the chance to vote.”

In Rom. 12: 2 we are told, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” If we want to grow as Christians this is the way to do it. Our minds have to be continually renewed if we expect to not only grow, but also to have victory in the Christian life. The phrase in the above verse, “Do not conform” has been paraphrased in the Phillips translation this way: “Don’t let the world squeeze you into its mold.” That is exactly what the world system is always trying to do; brainwash us to its way of thinking and behaving. Through the media, people, and other sources, we are constantly bombarded with pressure to behave and live the way the rest of the world does. The only escape is to daily renew our minds with the principles taught in the Bible. The rest of the above verse tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. The word translated here as “transformed” is a word in the original Greek language from which we get our word “metamorphosis”. It is the same word we use to describe the transforming process of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. The way we renew our minds is by taking in God’s Word and meditating on it. Christian meditation is simply pondering verses and ideas from Scripture and thinking of how we can apply them to our lives. It is not like the Hindus chanting “OM” over and over again and trying to empty their minds. Christian meditation is a active process of filling the mind with Christian teachings and looking at them in different ways.

Garbage In, Garbage Out

There is an old expression in computer science called GIGO. It stands for “Garbage In, Garbage Out”. The idea behind the phrase is that whatever you put into a computer comes out, but just in different form. So if you input garbage data into a computer, you are going to get garbage as a result, although in a different form. The same thing applys to our minds. If we fill our minds with garbage thoughts, then garbage living will result in our lives. If we fill our minds with quality, growth encouraging thoughts and ideas, our lives will show it.

Driving Time Can Help You Grow As A Christian

One of the advantages we have as truck drivers is that we have a lot of time we can use on the road to fill our minds with solid, growth producing ideas and information. With the Bible on a set of CDs, we can spend as many hours as we want listening to Scripture and it will show in our lives. I remember talking to one of my Bible professors from college one time. He mentioned this fact. I told him it was sometimes hard to concentrate on listening to Bible tapes because my mind would wander. He told me it was still doing a lot of good if I listened even though my mind did wander at times. The very fact that the words of scripture from the tapes were going into my subconscious mind through my ears could still produce active results in my life. If you have ever studied about the subconscious mind, you know it has a profound influence on our behavior. In the same way, ideas which enter our minds through our hearing do have an effect on our thinking. And our actions result from our thinking.

“Try It, You’ll Like It”

The next time you’re in a store that has a set of Bible CDs, buy a set if you don’t already have one. Try listening to them for a month while you are driving down the road. Then evaluate the experiment to see if you can see some positive changes in your life and the way you look at things in general. I think you will discover a difference.
