IDF: Syria could attack Israel soon

The Jerusalem Post reported on Thursday that there is growing concern in the Israeli army that Syrian dictator Bashar Assad could attack the Jewish state as pressure mounts for him to step down.Assad is currently facing a revolution in his own country that he has sought to quell with brutal military force. Those bloody tactics have resulted in a good portion of the Syrian army joining the opposition, and Syria is nearing the point of full-scale civil war.The situation has prompted the Arab League and Western powers to consider injecting their own military forces into Syria with the aim of ending Assads rule. But before that happens, Israeli military officials believe Assad would lash out at Israel, both to divert Arab attention on Syrias internal struggle and to establish a lasting legacy for himself.

U.S. military told to prepare for Iran ops

WASHINGTON – Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta believes that Israel could attack Iran in an April-to-June timeframe, and there apparently has been a decision made for the U.S. to help in an assault on the radical Islamic nation’s nuclear facilities.

U.S. military sources tell WND that the Pentagon has begun preparations for “a number of operational plans and counter-operations,” with a Feb. 22 due date for submitting the plans.

There also is a request for identifying U.S. forces “by 1 March with a ‘through’ date of October.”

Mexican Trucks Are on Our Roads

After years of negative votes in Congress and the opposition of the American people, on Oct. 21 Barack Obama allowed the first Mexican truck to cross the border at Laredo, Texas, and head north to deliver door-to-door service of its industrial equipment. This was implemented by an agreement quietly signed by Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood in Mexico City on July 6 with Mexico’s secretary of Communications and Transportation.

Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., calls this deal a major anti-jobs program saying, “We’re literally taking good jobs here in America and passing them over the line to Mexico.” Todd Spencer, executive vice president of the Independent Drivers Association, a non-union trade association, said 100,000 trucking jobs will be lost.

God Does NOT Answer Prayers!

By  Dave Miller in Bible & Theology

No, keep your stones in your pocket!

I do not believe that I am advocating heresy and I an certainly not recommending that we abandon prayer.  I know the title was shocking – that part was intentional.  I think that there is a simple principle about prayer that we need to remember.  Actually, if you get a hold on this principle, it might actually be a blessing.  So sit for a minute, read this, and then if you still want to stone me with stones afterward, well, do what you have to do!

God does NOT answer prayer.  We tend to miss the point when we make statements like that.  Let me explain.

How Much Can You Make As a Truck Driver?

I talked to a Swift driver today to see how he was doing on the road. He had been running several months and gave me some figures so I did some calculating to see how some of the other drivers are doing.
The driver said he was getting about 2000-2200 miles per week at $.30 per mile. Knowing a lot of new drivers are taking out loans to attend truck driver training and getting on the road, I did some calculating to see if it was worth the time and money these days for new drivers. Here is what I came up with:

$.30 per mile
2000-2200 miles per week
Time approx 11-12 hrs per day= 60 hrs per week average (including fueling time, paperwork, loading and unloading time, etc.)

Gross Income: $ 600- 660 per week
Food Costs: $150-$200 per week
Gross income after food = $400-$510
Hourly rate: $ 6.66- $8.50

This is assuming you can get 2000-2200 miles per week. Some of the drivers I have talked to with various companies are having a hard time getting that many miles.

Can you and your family live on that? Can you pay your family’s food, rent or mortgage, insurance, etc?

Think twice before you take the dive.

THE FLASH MOB METHOD OF SCIENTIFIC INQUIRY

By Ann Coulter

The definition of hell is being condescended to by idiots. It will probably be MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and Contessa Brewer sneering at you for all of eternity for not believing in evolution.

Roughly one-third of my 2006 No. 1 New York Times best-seller, “Godless: The Church of Liberalism,” is an attack on liberals’ creation myth, Darwinian evolution. I presented the arguments of all the luminaries in the field, from the retarded Richard Dawkins to the brilliant Francis Crick, and disputed them.

But apparently liberals didn’t want to argue back.

Despite Matthews’ obsessive fixation on the topic, manifested by his constantly asking elected Republicans if they believe in evolution, in a one-hour interview with me on “Godless” — the very book that is chockablock with attacks on Darwinism — Matthews didn’t ask me a single question about the subject.

No liberal did. Matthews doesn’t even know what evolution is.

Just two years later, at a 2008 Republican presidential candidates’ debate, Matthews asked for a show of hands of who believed in evolution. No discussion permitted! That might allow scientific facts, rather than schoolyard taunts, to escape into the world.

Evolution is the only subject that is discussed exclusively as a “Do you believe?” question with yes-or-no answers. How about conservative journalists start putting mikes in front of liberal candidates and demanding, “Do you believe in the Bible — yes or no?” “Is an unborn baby human — yes or no?” and “Do you believe teenagers should have sex — yes or no?”

This is the flash mob method of scientific inquiry. Liberals quickly surround and humiliate anyone who disagrees with them. They are baffled when appeals to status (which would work on them) don’t work on everyone else.

Now that Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry has said there are “gaps” in the theory of evolution — or “gas” as The New York Times originally reported, before issuing a correction — we’re in for another round of fact-free mocking of fundamentalist nuts.

In fact, however, it has not been advances in Christianity (which is pretty much settled), but in science that have completely discredited Darwin’s theory of evolution.

Our New Website Is Finished

I was finally able to finish the new website update at Christian Truckers Network. You regulars will also probably notice I updated the design for the blog as well.  The new site features newer content management software for easier updating.  The new software does change the URL address of many of the pages, so if you have any bookmarked, you will need to locate them in the Menu and update your bookmarks. If you have any suggestions for new types of content you would like to see on the site in the future, please let me know.  (Also if you find any bugs in the system, I would appreciate knowing about those as well.)
