Check With God

I was working for a security company at a temporary post. It was in an eight-story condo building, in an underground garage. My responsibilities involved checking in guests, giving them a visitor pass and assigning them a parking space. It was boring and most of my time was spent sitting on an uncomfortable bar stool, staring at a sign located across from my post. The sign read, “Stop Check With Guard Before Proceeding”. One evening, while staring at that sign, with no other thought in my mind, the word guard appeared to me as God. I suddenly realized that there was a message there. I often have been guilty of making a “snap decision” in a moment of anger, passion, stupidity, or wracking my brain for days, worrying about what to do to solve a problem, whatever the situation. Instead, I should have been going to God in prayer and letting Him give me guidance and direction. This is a powerful message, and I believe God brought me to that place and showed me that message for a reason.
