Eight Times the Amount of Oil in the US Than in Saudi Arabia
The USGS has determined we have the equivalent of eight times the amount of oil than Saudi Arabia and 18 times the amount in Iraq. These reserves would make America energy independent for as long as 200 years according to some experts. Why is the government and media keeping this quiet?
The world’s single-largest oil deposit sits right here in North America in the US and Canada. Time magazine calls it “Canada’s biggest buried treasure.” It’s an area with up to 2.5 trillion barrels of oil, locked in Alberta sand. That’s eight times the total reserves of Saudi Arabia, enough to satisfy the world’s demand for petroleum for the next century.
Hal Lindsey talks about this on his podcast for 2/26/10 . Fast forward to 8:40 minutes on the video.

Obama gives your tax dollars to rebuild Muslim mosques around the world
From American Family Association:
While millions of Americans struggle to keep their homes and jobs, President Barack Obama can’t give your tax dollars away fast enough.
According to the Associated Press, the Obama administration will give away nearly $6 million of American tax dollars to restore 63 historic and cultural sites, including Islamic mosques and minarets, in 55 nations. See the State Department document here.
This is an outrage! Our country is broke. And can you imagine what the ACLU and others on the secular left would say if these monies had been spent to repair Christian churches? They would be screaming “separation of church and state!” Funding Islam on foreign soil with American taxpayer money? Not a whimper.
The latest taxpayer givaway includes $76,000 for a 16th century mosque in China, $67,000 for a mosque in Pakistan, $77,000 to restore minarets in Nigeria and Mauritania, and $50,000 for an Islamic Monument in India.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says the U.S. program to restore Islamic and other cultural sites in other countries is taxpayer money well spent.
Contact your member of Congress today! Ask your representative to immediately condemn this waste of taxpayer dollars and begin an investigation into why American taxpayers are footing the bill to rebuild Islamic mosques overseas.
You won’t believe what Sears is selling
From the American Family Association (AFA)
Sears is content to sell pornography. And, if you are offended, they don’t seem to care!
We tried. In fact, we tried more than a half-dozen times to reach out to Sears quietly and professionally. Sears’ public relations department has refused to return our calls and emails.
Sears is currently offering giant posters of total nudity on its website. Sears knows they are selling smut. Technology allows Sears to remove and stop selling these posters within minutes, so why won’t they?
I hope you will take my word for it, but if you must see the proof, they can be found here. Warning: the posters are extremely graphic and offensive, although they have been edited by us.
These aren’t just posters of scantily-clad women. Some of them depict groups of people, lesbians and others engaged in ***ual activities. Very little is left to the imagination.
Take Action
Unless Sears hears from you, they will continue to sell offensive posters. Please take a moment to email Sears’ public relations director Larry Costello. We have left voice mails on Mr. Costello’s cell phone numerous times. He has refused to return them.
The Displacement Principle
All Christians have some things in their lives they would like to get rid of. It’s some sin, small, medium, or large with which they constantly struggle. We confess, forsake, and then later turn around and do it again. You know what I’m talking about. We say that the next time the temptation comes, we will be stronger, but we are not. The problem with dealing with this kind of cycle is that if you want to remove something from your life, you have to replace it with something else. Nature abhors a vacuum. If you want to get rid of a bad habit, you have to replace it with a good one. This is what Christ taught in Matt. 12:43-45. He said:
When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first.
Take an example. If I have a glass full of water and pour the water out, the glass is not empty. Air has displaced the water. In the same way, if I shove my fist into the glass of water, the water spills out and my fist is replacing the water.
It is the same way in the spiritual realm. If you want to get something out of your life, you have to replace it with something else…something better.
Reaching Truckers Online
One of the ways to reach truckers with the Gospel is to start a website or blog on some aspect of trucking or of interest to truckers. For evangelistic purposes, the site needs to be on a topic related to trucking or of interest to truckers, but from a secular standpoint. What I mean is this. It needs to be a “non religious” website or blog. It could be a website about some trucking related topic such as truck accessories, truck chrome, or trucking news. It could also be about something entirely apart from trucking such as a hobby. Somewhere on the site you will want to have some type of presentation of the gospel or your testimony. However, the main topic of the website or blog will be about something else. The reason is that you are trying to attract unsaved truckers to your website. If you advertise it as a Christian related site, you will probably get Christian truckers to visit it, but many non-Christian truckers will click off as soon as they see it is a “religious” website. The purpose is to build a bridge to the trucker. It is like developing a friendship offline with someone hoping that sooner or later you will be able to present the Gospel to them. There is nothing deceptive about this approach if you give them the information they are seeking. Here is how you can do it.
Start with a topic which interests you and other truckers. This could be a hobby such as hunting, fishing, motorcycles, or other areas of interest. It could also be your views on trucking related news and events.
Write some articles about the topic. Then build a website or blog and upload those articles to the site.
Somewhere on the blog or website, perhaps on the “About Me” page, give your testimony or the plan of salvation. Depending on the type of website it is, you may even be able to incorporate some of this into the articles themselves. For instance, if you are writing about problems related to being a truck driver, you can give your views from a Christian standpoint. A little brainstorming will help you come up with ways to do this.
Print up some small flyers or business card size advertisements about your website or blog and leave them in the trucker lounges at truck stops and also pass them out to drivers you come in contact with on the road.
If you develop a website or blog with good, useful information, over a period of time you will develop return visitors. By having the plan of salvation or your personal testimony available on the site, many will read it and some may see their need of salvation. God promised that His Word would not return to Him void, but would accomplish what He intended.

How To Study the Bible For Yourself
There are many books out there to tell you how to study the Bible. One of the best I have come across is Tim LaHaye’s book, How to Study the Bible for Yourself. It is straight forward and easy to understand. The methods he shows are practical methods for getting the most out of your study time without a lot of technical details. He presents a plan where you can have a firm grasp of the New Testament in a short period of time. He gives instruction such as:
- What Bible Study Will Do for You
- How to Read the Bible
- Methods of Bible Reading
- How to study the Bible by books, chapter, and subject
- How to Interpret the Bible (Hermeneutics)
- Accelerating the Learning Process
- And how to disciple others
It is a book for new and mature Christians and will speed you on your way to learning the Bible and growing as a Christian.
Get Back to Basics
After we’ve been a Christian for a while, it is easy to get in a rut. Our work and personal lives tend to get more complicated and more distractions come our way. After a while, it seems we are spending a lot of time just putting out fires and trying to cope with life on a daily basis. Our Bible reading and prayer life starts to slide without our realizing it and we find ourselves trying to cope with life through our own wisdom and ingenuity. That’s when things can snowball and life can really end up a mess.
